We were greeted with a nice smile and welcome. That's always a warm invitation.
Promptly seated and water bottle placed on the table.
The location is just outside pike market, few steps up the hill.
The lunch was chirashi was super fresh and nicely sliced sashmi.
My only disappointment was there wasn't any Odon soup, but miso soup was excellent.
Additionally, we tried the spider roll with real soft shell crab.
Definitely
Enjoyed our meal! -

1 star for the fish as it is not fresh and not good quality fish. We ordered chirashi, rice taste pretty plain, the food bowl didn't look exactly like the pictures in the menu and some missing ingredients was replaced with cheap ones. I threw up after half way finishing it, will not come back.
Staffs are nice and friendly. -

Neither supporting nor defaming this store. Just sharing an experience.
We didn't get the sides we expected. Looking at their photos on the menu and some posts on Yelp, we expected similar salads or sides with our entrees. The entrees came without vegetables or any sides (as shown in photo). It's possible they replaced it with the miso soup and the pickled daikon, but no one or thing clarified this.
Taste alone, Urara deserves 4 stars. Miso soup and pickled daikon were delicious. Fried chicken was a little dry, but the curry and rice were spot on. Seared salmon (didn't take a photo) was good with the fish eggs, and the tendon was also good. Food isn't amazing or priced the best, but it's a nice place for Japanese street food.
Most disappointing was customer service. Before I delve into the details, I will preface this by saying everyone has bad days, and it's not fair for me to say Urara's customer service is bad in general. I'm just sharing an experience.
For context, the store wasn't very busy. There were about 4 or 5 groups including us, 2 waitresses and a manager. While dining, our waitress replaced the water jug once. Note, we're eating rice bowls with relatively salty foods, so we're bound to get thirsty. Sadly, we didn't have water to drink for the majority of our stay. After finishing, we talked for ~20 min until we realized we had to get up and ask for our checks. Adding on, they got us the wrong bill. Wasn't a good experience. -

I was craving for some yakisoba and decided to try this place. Mannnn it was disappointing...
The presentation is pretty but that was the only good thing. Also, it was nice to have a soup on the side and I wished I didn't drink that first because I needed it throughout the meal. There was only a few pieces of chicken, the noodle was stuck in clumps, the veggies was overly salty and it was drowning in oil.
The portion seem small but with all the oil, you will feel full. Overall, it's fairly disappointing -

I came here for the sukiyaki beef bowl and it was delicious. It was flavorful and the beef was tender. It was sautéed with mushrooms and onions and they were both softened and cooked to my liking. I also enjoyed the California roll and money brain! For those that don't know what it is, it's an avocado stuffed with imitation crab and spicy tuna and fried in a light tempura batter.
I came back for the chirashi bowl and it might have been an off day. It was a busy Friday and their Togo orders were insane. The woman working was very nice to customers but kept shouting things to the kitchen and it was a bit distracting. The yellowtail was phenomenal but everything else in the bowl was mediocre.
Overall I would come back for the sukiyaki beef bowl and am Interested in trying their katsu curry.
